Astier de Villatte’s Nara Incense is inspired by the tranquil, temple-dotted town of Nara — a place where sacred deer wander freely, ancient shrines glow in soft light, and time seems to slow. The fragrance evokes the gentle calm of the century-old Nara Hotel and the winding streets that surround it: warm, meditative sandalwood enriched with sensual jasmine sambac, ginger root brightness, soft cashmeran, and a glowing touch of amber.

Crafted by master incense artisans on the island of Awaji, each stick is made using centuries-old techniques — carefully blending natural woods, plants, and resins before kneading, shaping, and drying them in the ocean wind. The result is incense of exceptional purity, depth, and refinement.

A box contains 125 sticks, each burning for 30 minutes and filling the air with a tranquil, comforting warmth — a scent that feels both intimate and quietly transcendent.
