SIDNEY GARBER

SIDNEY GARBER

Sidney Garber, the son of a watch repairman, began what would become his fine jewelry house in Chicago in 1946. As a little girl, Brooke joined her father in the Sidney Garber store, standing behind the counter, watching him work. She traveled with him for years to the ateliers in Paris and Milan, meeting with the most esteemed craftsmen and designers. In 2008, Brooke inherited the business and opened an additional store in New York. As Sidney Garber's owner and creative director, she marries this heritage of quality and excellence with her modern eye, personal style, and sense of ease.

Brooke Garber donates her profits to children’s mental health, the arts, women’s reproductive rights, and ending gun violence.

In 1999, Brooke received the United Hospital Fund’s Distinguished Community Service Award for her role in founding the NYU Child Study Center. In 2015, Brooke was elected to the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. (CFDA). In 2015, Brooke was recognized as a Distinguished Leader in Special Education by Education Update. In 2016, Brooke and her husband Dan were named Living Landmarks by the New York Landmarks Conservancy. In 2018, Brooke won the Town & Country Jewelry Award – Philanthropist of the year. In 2002, Brooke received the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry “Catcher in the Rye” Humanitarian Award. In 2024, Brooke was the Whitney Museum Gala Honoree alongside Henry Louis Gates, Jr.  In 2025, Brooke was Recipient of Swan Ball Award for Philanthropy
