Astier de Villatte’s Anchorage Incense evokes the stark beauty of Alaska’s coast: the shock of landing on frozen asphalt, the hush of snowcapped peaks, and the slow release of scent as the landscape thaws. The fragrance blends icy green notes with wild botanicals — star anise, artemisia, absinthe, clary sage — grounded by Virginia cedar and patchouli. The result is a clean, resinous, invigorating scent that feels like stepping into luminous northern light.

Each stick is crafted on the Japanese island of Awaji, birthplace of the world’s finest incense. Master Koh-shis — artisans of aroma for over a thousand years — blend natural woods, herbs, and resins; knead the aromatic dough by hand; cut it into slender ribbons; and dry them for days in the island’s west wind. This ancestral craft gives Anchorage Incense its immaculate clarity and depth.

A box contains approximately 125 sticks, each offering 30 minutes of fragrant, meditative burn.
