Astier de Villatte Yakushima Incense

A descent into one of the world’s most ancient forests.
Astier de Villatte’s Yakushima Incense is inspired by the mystical rainforest on the island of Yakushima — a lush, primeval landscape where thousand-year-old cedars rise from moss-covered earth and wild azaleas bloom in the mist. The air is cool, verdant, and deeply aromatic, carrying the quiet breath of enormous yakusugi trunks, damp soil, and crystalline waterfalls. The fragrance is earthy, enveloping, and delicately green — a scent that feels both grounding and otherworldly.

Handmade on Japan’s Awaji Island, each incense stick is crafted by master Koh-shis following centuries-old techniques: natural woods, plants, and resins are blended, kneaded, shaped, and dried in the ocean wind. The result is incense of exceptional purity and atmospheric depth, capable of transporting any room into a world of serene, living nature.

A box contains 125 sticks, each offering 30 minutes of meditative burn.
