Description
A fragrant escape into the painter’s world.
Astier de Villatte’s Atelier de Balthus Incense captures the hushed, golden atmosphere of a wood-panelled artist’s studio — a place where time seems to pause. Northern light filters through a wide bay window, drifting over brushes, palettes, canvases, and rags still scented with linseed oil. The air carries an intoxicating blend of turpentine, honeyed woods, soft smoke, tobacco, and cedar. Designed with Alexandra Monet, the fragrance feels warm, resinous, and deeply comforting — like stepping inside an intimate creative sanctuary.
Handmade on Japan’s Awaji Island by master incense artisans, each stick is composed using centuries-old techniques: natural woods, resins, and aromatics are carefully blended, kneaded, shaped, and dried in the island’s ocean wind. The result is incense with exceptional richness and clarity.
A box contains 125 sticks, each delivering 30 minutes of atmospheric, aromatic burn.
