Astier de Villatte’s Oulan Bator Incense evokes the vast, untamed expanses surrounding Mongolia’s capital — a place where leather, smoke, and sun-baked earth mingle in the air. Designed with Françoise Caron, the fragrance opens with the raw elegance of angelica root and earthy Indonesian patchouli, deepened by Balkan tobacco absolute, birch wood, incense, and ciste. A soft vanilla–ambergris accord and a subtle leather note trail behind, creating a scent that is bold, nomadic, and hauntingly atmospheric.

Handmade on Japan’s Awaji Island, each incense stick is crafted by master Koh-shis using ancestral techniques: natural woods and resins are blended, kneaded, shaped, and dried in the island’s ocean wind. The result is incense with remarkable depth, clarity, and longevity.

A box contains 125 sticks, each offering 30 minutes of smoky, transportive burn.
