Astier de Villatte’s Villa Medici Incense evokes the quiet grandeur of the famous Roman villa where artists have gathered, created, and reflected for centuries. Imagine wandering past wide studio windows that open onto sweeping views of the city, then stepping into sunlit gardens lined with tall cedars and time-worn stone. The air is warm and aromatic — lavender and oregano flowers drifting on the breeze, lemon leaves releasing their green brightness, cedarwood lending its noble, resinous depth. Handmade on Japan’s Awaji Island by master Koh-shis, each stick is crafted using ancestral techniques: natural woods, leaves, and resins are blended, kneaded, shaped, and dried in the island’s ocean wind. This time-honored craft gives Villa Medici its remarkable clarity and long, elegant trail.

A box includes 125 sticks, each offering 30 minutes of luminous, atmospheric burn.
