Description
A high-altitude breath from the gateway to the Himalayas.
Astier de Villatte’s Namche Bazar Incense is inspired by the famed Nepalese town perched along the ascent toward Everest — a crossroads alive with mountain air, steaming tea houses, and the quiet rhythm of trekkers passing through. The fragrance opens with the comforting depth of black tea, shaped by dried-hay nuances and a soft tobacco smokiness. Patchouli, yerba maté, and musk add warmth and earth, while verveine and aromatic lavender lift the blend with a crisp, alpine freshness. The result is serene, atmospheric, and grounding — like a moment of stillness halfway to the sky.
Handmade on Japan’s Awaji Island by master Koh-shis, each incense stick is crafted using centuries-old methods: natural woods, herbs, and resins are blended, kneaded, shaped, and dried in the island’s ocean wind. This heritage technique gives Namche Bazar Incense its clarity, purity, and long-lasting trail.
A box includes 125 sticks, each offering 30 minutes of meditative burn.
