SILVER - (Ag) 2022 Using Italian Silver Leaf, the identity of “Ag” lies within the bricking pattern and imperfections in uniformity. While collectively achieving a stone like appearance, each piece is beautiful unto itself, touching on concepts of identity, worth, and duality with its gold counterpart. Fully realized and executed over the course of a year, the precious metals work became a mental and physical challenge for the artist thatas a therapeutic endeavor as well for the artist. Teaching lessons on process, patience, and persistence. Each square leaf is individually placed and laid upon a size base after a time sensitive drying period. In all, its takes one sitting of nearly 7 hours to apply the leaf without stopping otherwise risking uniformity. |
| COMPOSITION Recycled EPS, fiberglass, resin and silver leaf; the work’s scale forces its audience to draw on references from both the Light and Space and Finish Fetish movements. |
