Astier de Villatte’s Porte des Lilas Incense evokes the charm of a bygone era — stepping out of the 1920s metro station into quiet lanes lined with petite houses and lilac-draped gardens. Mauve blossoms spill over fences, perfuming the air with their soft greenery, while gentle puffs of rose and jasmine drift between the alleys. The effect is delicate, nostalgic, and joyfully floral — a scent that feels like discovering a hidden corner of Paris in full bloom.

Handmade on the Japanese island of Awaji, each incense stick is crafted by master Koh-shis using centuries-old techniques. Natural woods, resins, and botanicals are blended, kneaded, and shaped by hand, then dried in the island’s ocean wind. The result is incense with exceptional purity and a beautifully lingering trail.

A box contains 125 sticks, each offering 30 minutes of fragrant escape.
